The Silence of the Lambs by Thomas Harris.

Re-read of a very dated book in a genre I'm not familiar with. I enjoy it each time I read it, but damn if I can figure out why.

I started a giveaway on Goodreads for Good as Dead, my werewolf/vampire/witch paranormal novel. Click here to learn the details.

One day, I hope I may be as fabulous as this:

I don't know where this is from, but it is awesome.

The Spectrum 21 Award nominees have been announced, meaning there are bunches of fantastic art to look at! (Some of it NSFW.) I especially love "Hot Diggety Dog" by Colin and Kristine Poole, "Fragile Planet" by Bill Mayer, and "Shared Eyewear" by Bill Carman.
outlineofash: Einstein's head superimposed on a muscular body. Above, text reads, "Ideas are sexy, too." (Text - Ideas are sexy too)

Sir Galahad by George Frederic Watts. Seemingly odd that I'd find inspiration in a Pre-Raphaelite painting of a knight from Arthurian myth, considering the story I'm working on is a paranormal about werewolves, witches, and vampires. But one of the characters comes from a family where the knights of legend figure prominently, invoked as models of behavior. This character, whose middle name is Galahad, has had to bear a lot of bad jokes about "Sir Galahad the Chaste."

Gorgeous

Jane Austen-lite with magic. Super enjoyable, though the ending was really rushed.

And that cover is *gorgeous*.
outlineofash: Text reads "I don't know what I'm doing." (Text - Don't Know)
This evening, I discovered the freezer door had been left *ever so slightly* ajar for the past 24 hours. Frost EVERYWHERE inside the freezer, and the evaporator coil was clogged with ice. Thankfully, unplugging the fridge and using a hair dryer to melt all the ice was enough to get everything working again.

When I exercise daily, I'm able to sleep through the night.

According to this test, I use both sides of my brain equally. That was a surprise, since the general opinion is that creative types tend to be right-brain driven. Maybe that's just a myth? Or I'm much less creative than I've prided myself on being, haha.

I've slowly morphed into a writer who outlines instead of one who figures out a story as she goes.
outlineofash: Text reads: "Cool stuff, weird things." (Text - Cool Stuff Weird Things)
Good as Dead, my werewolf/vampire/witch paranormal novel, is now available as an ebook for $2.99 USD. There are also plans to make it available through Smashwords, although I don't have a set date, yet.

For those who aren't into ebooks, there's a paperback version available through Amazon.com. (Still working on getting this on The Book Depository so it's available internationally.)

And now I'll shut up and return to working on the sequel.

Bernard always eschewed the three-piece suit favored by his fellow demons...he had no love for ironing, either.

Aside from the horns and glowing eyes, I was too rusty with full-body poses to take any artistic license with the ref photo.
